Solder reflow Of The 1210 Surface Mount PTC Resettable Fuse
Due to “Lead Free” nature, Temperature and Dwelling time for the soldering zone is higher than those for Regular. This may cause damage to other components.
1. Recommended max paste thickness is 0.25mm.(Nominal)
2. Devices can be cleaned using standard methods and aqueous solvent.
3. Rework use standard industry practices.
4. Storage Environment : < 30℃ / 60%RH
Caution:
1. If reflow temperatures exceed the recommended profile, devices may not meet the performance requirements.
2. Devices are not designed to be wave soldered to the bottom side of the board.
Selection Method Of The 1210 Surface Mount PTC Resettable Fuse
Using the following methods can help you select the suitable PPTC resettable fuses:

List the average working current (I) and voltage (V.) of the circuit.

Select the PPTC series according to the I, V , product’s type and the form of installation.

If the inner temperature of device is over 25°C, the current through the JKPPTC element will decrease along with the temperature rise. The holding current can calculate as follows according to discount rate:
IH=operating current (I) ÷ discount rate .

According to the PPTC series ,which selected in step 2 and the IH calculated in step 3,choose the proper element in the catalogue, the IH of the selected PPTC must be equal or greater than the IH calculated in step 3.
If there is any demand for room temperature resistance and the operation time of overcurrent protection on the line use the above method to select relevant series.
